MEET YOUR HEAD COACH

Jayden Rykers was born and raised in Perth and was riding from four, racing from five and competing at state level by six, coming up through the Yamaha and Honda junior development programs. As an only child with hard-working parents who were often gone early, he learned self-reliance young: getting himself up and to the bus on time, or riding his pushbike to school if he missed it. That shaped his core standard: do something 100% or don’t do it at all. He brings the same all-in approach to every rider he coaches.

By 16 he knew motocross was his calling. He moved to Victoria to race full time at Australia’s highest level. His career included 13 state titles, second in the Australian Under 19 MX Championship, multiple pro-level overall podiums, factory rides with Raceline KTM and the Empire Kawasaki 450 team, and international racing in Europe, New Zealand and Indonesia. All up, he spent 23 years in the boots.

Over his career Jayden trained under more than eight coaches, each with a different focus: technique, fitness or the mental game. He coached alongside his own racing and is also a qualified personal trainer. He distilled the best of those influences into one system, the MX101 coaching philosophy and the playbook every MX101 coach now works from. He started out as Rykers MX Academy, which became MX101 as demand and the team grew, with the brand built to outgrow any single coach. With 20 years of coaching behind him, he now leads a team with more than 25 years of combined experience.
